The definition of self expands to more than race, gender, material possessions, and experiences - it can be found in a fleeting moment in time and space. Interactions with people and spaces. Memories. Traditions crafted through generations. The fusion of objects found from estate sales and mirrors underscores the cyclical nature of human existence. The final physical artifacts of a person are renewed - presenting us with personal and shared histories, the fluidity of identity, and the notion that we are all curators of our own stories.
I ask the viewer to contemplate their identity in a world where racial divisions are becoming blurred and cultural traditions are changing shape.
